Founded in 2005, it is one of the first ten fund management companies approved for establishment by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Headquartered in Shanghai, its business scope covers public offering funds, customized account wealth management, pension management, etc., and the scale of assets under management exceeds 500 billion yuan. With a strong shareholder background and a professional investment management team, it has significant advantages in areas such as fixed income and equity investment, providing diversified wealth management services to individual and institutional investors.
Project Background
The customer faces the following challenges in building the CMDB system and asset management
- Scattered asset information: Business systems such as mutual funds, individual account asset management, and pension management maintain asset information independently, with no unified management, resulting in inconsistent asset data.
- Difficult change management: Frequent system changes are not synchronized with CMDB updates, and the true state of the IT environment is not reflected in real time.
- Complex resource relationships: The relationships between business systems such as equity investment and fixed income and the underlying infrastructure are complex, and there is a lack of a clear resource topology map.
- Inadequate data support: The existing CMDB cannot provide accurate data support for scenarios such as the automated deployment of the investment management system and the expansion of the trading system.
- Compliance management pressures: Regulatory requirements for IT asset management in the fund industry are stringent, and the existing CMDB system has difficulty meeting the needs of compliance audits.
- Difficult troubleshooting: The lack of a complete relationship map between the application and the system affects the efficiency of troubleshooting and impact analysis.
Project Solution
- Reconstruction of the CMDB Model:
- Design a multi-dimensional CMDB model that includes layers such as infrastructure, application systems, and business services.
- Establish a complete asset lifecycle management model that supports the entire process of managing assets from procurement, deployment, operations and maintenance to disposal.
- Create a resource topology relationship model to clearly show the association relationships between business systems and the underlying infrastructure.
- Automated Discovery of the CMDB:
- Network segment scanning: Automatically scan network segments on a regular basis to discover newly added hosts and devices.
- Infrastructure discovery: Automatically collect configuration information from various infrastructures, including host systems, storage systems, network services, and more.
- Application Container Discovery: Automatically identify container instances and their configuration information in the Kubernetes cluster.
- Implementation of CMDB Consumption Scenarios:
- ITSM Process Platform: Achieve deep integration between the CMDB and the ITSM system, support automatic change order association with configuration items, and automatically update CMDB data.
- Monitoring System Notification: Automatically configure monitoring strategies based on CMDB asset information and intelligently associate alarm information with asset information.
- Virtual Machine Online in the Cloud Management System: When a virtual machine is created, it is automatically synchronized with the CMDB and triggers the configuration of relevant monitoring strategies and the opening of Bastion host permissions.
- Bastion Host System Permissions: Automatically associate Bastion host entitlement application work orders with CMDB asset information, and support automatic entitlement opening and remediation.
