Overview of Scenarios

The vitality of the CMDB comes from the consumption, feedback, and iteration of scenarios. We continuously excavate the demand for resource configuration and graph data from various IT daily work such as IT service operation, fault monitoring, risk assessment, security audit, analysis report, and visual presentation, and form practical and high-frequency consumption scenarios.

Scenario-oriented Delivery Mode

The new-generation CMDB data management platform adopts a scenario-centered iterative delivery mode. With scenarios as the target, through the " 7-step delivery", it quickly realizes the service support of data for scenarios, ensuring that data is generated and maintained at the minimum cost and maximizes its value.

Unlike other CMDB solutions that start from technology and adopt a bottom-up construction mode of "building the platform first and then using the platform", we advocate a construction strategy of "scenarios first":

• Everything starts from scenarios. Reasonably plan scenarios and implement them step by step. Think Big, Start Small;

• Focus on the preceding scenarios. Sort out the scenario processes, data requirements, consumption frequency, and scenario outputs;

• Determine a reasonable service mode facing the scenarios, including which service combinations, service frequencies, and service interfaces are involved;

• Build a minimized data model facing the scenarios, and cut and combine standard discovery tasks to complete data production and data governance;

• Through the monitoring of scenario consumption, continuously optimize data and services to ensure the maximization of scenario output value.

Topology Exploration

Users can browse and operate the relationship graph of resource data instances without boundaries in a topological way, and automatically track the real-time dynamic changes of the relationship graph;

Topology exploration combines federated data technology to browse associated data such as resource configuration, alarms, changes, and performance in one stop;

Application Portrait

The application portrait is an exclusive scenario module for managing application systems and their resource components. Aggregate and manage various software and hardware resource components from the perspective of the application system; instantly draw the application portrait based on the automatically discovered data, and automatically count the key indicators of the application system; built-in sub-scenarios such as application service call topology, fault impact analysis, change risk analysis, and application configuration file management.

Network Segment Management

The network segment management is an exclusive scenario module for managing IP network segments. Users can quickly search for the IP address capacity status of IP network segments in the CMDB on this page and browse the detailed information of specific resource instances corresponding to each IP address.

Cabinet Management

The cabinet management is an exclusive scenario module for managing cabinets. Users can quickly search for cabinets in the CMDB and the device asset instance items under their management on this page, and at the same time, browse the U-space capacity status of the cabinets and various detailed information of the device asset instance items in the cabinets.

Analysis Report

The resource analysis report can conduct multi-dimensional statistical analysis of the existing resource item data in the system. The analysis report templates currently provided by default by the system include: resource trend analysis template, resource expiration analysis template, resource capacity analysis template, multi-dimensional resource analysis template, resource history analysis template, etc.
