Relying on the Group's more than 40 hotel brands and the resources of over 10,000 hotels worldwide, it also provides technological empowerment such as reservation, management and marketing for hotels.

Project Background

The client faces the following challenges in CMDB and resource data management:

  • Scattered asset information: The hotel management system, reservation platform, membership system, etc. maintain asset information independently, lacking unified management, resulting in inconsistent asset data.
  • Complex resource relationships: The IT resource relationships of more than 10,000 hotels are complex, and the lack of a clear resource topology map affects the efficiency of system operations and maintenance.
  • Inaccurate data: Hotel resources change frequently, and CMDB data is not updated in a timely manner to accurately reflect the true IT environment.
  • Difficult to manage cloud resources: There is a lack of unified management of Huawei cloud resources, and it is difficult to monitor the usage of resources such as cloud hosts and cloud databases in real time.
  • Inaccurate cost statistics: The usage costs of Huawei cloud resources are scattered across different business systems, making it difficult to conduct unified cost analysis and optimization.
  • Lack of resource lifecycle management: There is a lack of effective management of the lifecycle of cloud resources, such as creation, use, and release, resulting in resource waste.
  • Challenges in multi-cloud management: Some business systems use both Huawei Cloud and other cloud platforms simultaneously, lacking a unified view of multi-cloud resource management.

Project Solution

  • Building an intelligent resource configuration management platform: Replace the original traditional resource configuration management platform and build a new generation of intelligent resource configuration management platform to achieve unified management of data such as infrastructure, basic architecture, software services, and application systems.
  • Automatically collect full-stack resources: Automatically collect, integrate and associate application-oriented technical resource data such as Huawei Cloud, products, projects, code repositories, CICD, private clouds and container clouds to ensure the real-time nature and accuracy of the data.
  • Construction of a resource relationship map: Based on the collected data, construct a complete resource relationship map to clearly display the IT resource topology relationships of more than 10,000 hotels and improve operation and maintenance efficiency.
  • Fine-grained management of cloud resources: Achieve unified management of Huawei cloud resources, including the full lifecycle management of the creation, use, and release of resources such as cloud hosts and cloud databases, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Cost analysis and optimization: Establish a unified cost statistical model to achieve centralized analysis of the usage cost of Huawei cloud resources and provide optimization suggestions to reduce operating costs.
  • Automated data services: Proactively provide accurate resource configuration data services to third-party systems such as the hotel management system, reservation platform, and membership system to support the automated operation and maintenance of business systems.
  • Data archiving and auditing: Achieve automatic archiving and version management of resource configuration data to meet compliance audit requirements.
  • Unified multi-cloud management: Build a unified multi-cloud management view to achieve centralized monitoring and management of resources on Huawei Cloud and other cloud platforms.
  • Resource optimization analysis: Provide resource utilization analysis and optimization suggestions to reduce resource waste based on accurate resource configuration data.
